Finally we had a badminton competition against their school team....fun but not ideal preparation for a long journey home!

After a final 'family photograph' we left for out farewell banquet and wished Caragh a Happy Birthday Chinese style.

The school specialised in Art and the first lesson was taken by their equivalent of Mr Gill. Our girls produced pottery models ranging from a McDonalds meal deal to a Chinese dragon.

After lunch we saw a famous Chinese artist paint a bamboo scene which the girls tried to replicate.

Yesterday we were given a warm welcome to Xiangshan School in Shanghai.

We were shown a video about life in the school to which Freya, Lucy, Sophie and Victoria replied with a poem and 'thank you' in Chinese.

In typhoon Haima rain (edge of the storm) we visited Yu Yuan Gardens. The bulk buy brolleys proved to be the best purchase of the trip!

This was followed by a Chinese tea ceremony where the girls tasted four different teas and learnt about their health benefits - a great experience.

Luckily the rain eased after lunch, enough for us to visit Shanghai Zoo with the brolleys down. Seeing the Red Panda and Giant Panda were real highlights for us.

Nice 'photo bomb' girls!

Then on to a walk down the Bund (riverside) followed by a bit of bartering at the markets.

Then it was on to a trip up the second tallest building in Shanghai, the photos give an idea of the height and views.

To end a special day in a special city we cruised on the river to soak up the nighttime atmosphere.

The rain stopped for our last full day in China and we took full advantage to see Shanghai at its best. Our first stop was a fascinating tour to learn how silk products are made.

Tomorrow we look forward to representing MTGS on a visit to a local school, before starting our long journey home.

Sadly more rain forecast for tomorrow!
